Terms of Use
Last updated 18 August 2026
uWidgets is made by me, Maxim Egorov, an independent developer. These terms apply to your use of the uWidgets app and this website. By using uWidgets, you agree to them.
License
uWidgets is distributed through the Mac App Store. Because no separate end user license agreement is provided with the app, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies to your use of it.
Pricing and in-app purchase
All six widgets — clock, date, battery, system monitor, network, and timer — are free, and stay free: you can place as many of them on your desktop as you like without paying anything. uWidgets Pro unlocks the small and large widget sizes and three additional themes (Frosted, Paper, and Accent) — never the widgets themselves. It is offered in three forms: an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, or a one-time “lifetime” purchase that unlocks the same features permanently. Current prices, the available subscription periods, and any free trial are shown in the app and on the App Store product page before you buy.
The purchase is processed and billed by Apple under the App Store's terms; I never receive or store your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple rather than by me — see Apple's refund request page.
You can restore an earlier purchase at any time: open Unlock uWidgets Pro from the menu-bar icon and press Restore. If Apple later reports that Pro is no longer valid — a subscription that has lapsed, or a purchase that has been refunded — widgets standing on a paid size or theme return to the free medium size and the Graphite theme, and stay where they are on your desktop. That fallback never overwrites your actual choice: the size and theme you picked stay in the layout file, and once Pro is valid again, each widget returns to them on its own — there is nothing to set again.
Free trials
A free trial is offered with the yearly plan; the monthly plan has none, and a lifetime purchase has no trial either. When a trial is offered, its length and the price it turns into are shown in the app before you start it. A trial converts into a paid subscription automatically when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand; eligibility for a trial is determined by Apple, not by me.
Subscription renewal and cancellation
A uWidgets Pro subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price shown to you when you subscribed. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription under System Settings → your Apple Account → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel it. A lifetime purchase does not renew and cannot be cancelled in that sense — and buying it does not automatically cancel a subscription you already have, so cancel the subscription yourself if you no longer want it to renew.
What the app does not do
uWidgets shows readings from your own Mac. It does not send them anywhere, does not keep a history of them, and has no server behind it. What it stores locally, and the single permission it asks for, are described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
uWidgets is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The readings it displays come from macOS and are shown for convenience — battery health, remaining time, and throughput figures are estimates produced by the system, and should not be relied on where an error would matter. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top is updated when they do.
